Searching for Online Bikes
As with searching for anything on the Internet, you will have to sort through a lot of irrelevant and/or misleading information before finding what you want. Using a search engine like Google or AltaVista is a good way to start. Be sure to type in exactly what you are looking for; being as specific as possible will get you a lot closer to what you want to find. If you dont know the exact name or specifics of what you are looking for, type in what you do know. Hopefully this will give you a clue as to the specific name, making your search easier.
Once you have located a website that carries online bikes, do a little research. Understanding more about terms and definitions that apply to your product, as well as how the product is made and its history, will help you determine whether or not its what you are looking for. When you settle on a product it is a good idea to read some consumer reviews. These are generally easy to find, especially for online bikes. Reviews from actual consumers will reveal any problems or issues with the bike you are interested in; or they might reveal it to be the right bike for you!
The one issue with buying online bikes is that you cant actually take them for a test ride. Seeing their design and reading reviews is all well and good, but its essential to ride before you buy to ensure that the bike you are interested actually fits your body type and riding style. Many manufacturer websites have a dealer locater option that will point you in the direction of someone who sells your bike locally. Most bike shops are more than happy to let you come in and test ride, even if you arent going to buy. A little research can go a long way in ensuring that you end up with the best possible bike for you.
